In response to the growing popularity of virtual assets and its associated crime activities, EUROPOL, INTERPOL and the Basel Institute on Governance established a tripartite partnership and platform in 2016, which aims to organise an annual global conference to increase the understanding, knowledge and capacity to successfully investigate crimes in which cryptocurrencies are involved. In addition, the partnership also aims to create a network of practitioners and experts in this field, who can collectively establish best practices and provide assistance and recommendations inside and outside the platform.
This annually organised global conference is a significant event of this partnership. Unlike previous years, the fourth edition is scheduled to be held entirely online with all the presentations being delivered virtually over the span of two days.
In this context, INTERPOL, EUROPOL and the Basel Institute on Governance jointly invites you to attend our web conference titled ‘4th Global Conference on Criminal Finances and Cryptocurrencies’. This conference aims to increase the global community’s awareness on the importance and methods of timely response to virtual assets’ facilitated financial crimes, in light of the increasing tendency of its use in money laundering.
