
Europol supports EU Member States in cross-border operations focusing on key crime hotspots and criminal networks across the European Union. The operations are carried out within the EMPACT framework.

The goal of IOS is to shut down websites selling counterfeit goods, such as luxury products and electronics. This is achieved through close cooperation from Europol’s Intellectual Property Crime Coordinated Coalition (IPC³), INTERPOL, the US National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Centre and law enforcement authorities from 27 EU Member States and third parties.
Operation OPSON targets organised crime networks trading in fake and substandard food and drinks. The annual operation is coordinated by Europol and INTERPOL and supported by customs, police, national food regulatory bodies and partners from the private sector.
