Established in 2017 by Europol, the Stop Child Abuse – Trace An Object initiative has yielded the following results (July 2021):
- Over 26 800 tips have been sent in via the general public;
- Investigators were able to narrow down a country in 105 instances;
- 12 children victim of child sexual abuse have been identified and removed from harm;
- 4 offenders have been identified and prosecuted.
Based on this success, the Australian Federal Police launched in March 2021 their own version of the Stop Child Abuse initiative focusing on the Asia Pacific region. Their images can be viewed at https://accce.gov.au/report/trace.
