Europol 2014 Law Enforcement Photo Competition

Europol is pleased to announce the results of its annual law enforcement photo competition, which this year attracted entries from a host of talented photographers from across Europe and beyond.

The top three prizewinners win a trip for two to the Netherlands, including a visit to Europol.

First prize has been awarded to Alfred Effenberger, a police officer with Landespolizeikommando Niederösterreichin, whose image captures Alpine police in training on a snowy mountainside in Hochkar, Austria.

2nd prize Alessandro Grasso, Italy

Alessandro Grasso from Italy, a police diver with the Carabinieri Subacquei, clinches second prize with his dramatically-charged shot from the School of Marshals in Velletri, Rome.

3rd prize Ciaran McGowan, Ireland

Ciaran McGowan, an officer with An Garda Síochána Reserve, is awarded third prize with his image taken at a checkpoint in Cork, Ireland, targeting organised crime in the city.
